Atonalp Announces Key Management Additions for Next Stage of Growth
TOKYO - April 11, 2022 - Atonarp, a leader in advancing clinical diagnostics, life science research, semiconductor and industrial process control through digital molecular profiling, is pleased to announce the important addition of an experienced management team of six. experienced management team joins Atonarp to build our commercial team, launch the ASTON™ mass spectrometry platform, lead product development, and lead marketing, business development, and regulatory/quality assurance for the ATON™ platform for in vitro diagnostics.
Shubneesh Batra, Ph.D., has joined Atonarp as Chief Business Officer and will build and lead worldwide sales, marketing, and service for the company's portfolio of semiconductor and industrial metrology products. Dr. Batra previously served as Chief Scientific Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Applied Materials' Advanced Packaging Division. He also spent three years as general manager of Kulicke & Soffa's Advanced Packaging Business Unit and seven years leading the Worldwide Channel Sales Group at Micron Technology.

Supporting Dr. Batra is a commercial team led by Keitaro Okada, Vice President of Commercial Operations APAC, and a team of nine marketing and sales professionals.
Chris Valcke, Ph.D., has joined the company as Chief Product Development Officer and will lead the global R&D organization. Specializing in product life cycle management in the medical device and diagnostics industry, he has successfully commercialized novel products from concept to development to launch. These solutions are now helping patients in cancer diagnostics, genetics, blood donor screening, nosocomial infections, and emergency medicine Prior to joining Atonarp, he held leadership roles at Invetech and Roche/Ventana Medical Systems.
Shaun Chen, Ph.D., joined Atonarp as Vice President of Engineering at the same time as Dr. Valcke. Dr. Chen has an outstanding track record in medical device product development, including Carl Zeiss and Optovue. He has expertise in optics, electronics, mechanics, systems, software, algorithms, and clinical applications.

Dr. Valcke and Dr. Chen are supported by a skilled team of 92 engineers, software developers, and biochemists in Japan, India, and the United States.
In addition, three new senior executives have recently been added to strengthen the leadership team of the diagnostics business.
Carrie Mulherin, Vice President of Marketing, has been a marketing and sales executive in the diagnostics industry for 30 years and has deep experience in strategic marketing, cross-functional team management, and commercialization. Most recently, she was Chief Marketing Officer at LightDeck Diagnostics, a point-of-care platform technology company with products for emergency department, critical care, clinic, veterinary, and environmental testing.
Erik Tyrrell-Knott, JD, Vice President Business Development An experienced business development executive with expertise in strategic planning and licensing. Most recently, Mr. Knott served as Head of Business Development and Product Management at ThermoFisher Scientific following the acquisition of Mesa Biotech, developer of the Accula RT PCR point-of-care testing platform, he was Vice President of Business Development at Elsevier, where he was responsible for business development in the non-traditional channels of health insurance, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, employer health and wellness, and medical devices.
Lisa Charter, Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance, has over 20 years of regulatory and quality assurance experience in multiple areas of diagnostics. Most recently, Lisa led the regulatory efforts to obtain new FDA approvals and 510(k) clearance for direct-to-consumer genetic testing at 23andMe, Inc.
